Reading Roundup!
What I read in November 2025
November was a busy busy month, back to normal in lots of ways and trying to catch up with everything I’d missed while I was stuck at home sick (of course, I’m typing this while stuck at home sick again - thanks, December superflu.)
So here’s what I read last month:
As always, a note that these are commission links to Bookshop.org - that means that you pay the same price you would otherwise, but I get a tiny cut of that price.
One Golden Summer - Carley Fortune
The Last Bookstore on Earth - Lily Braun-Arnold
The Enchanted Hacienda - J C Cervantes
Head Over Wheels - Leonie Mack
After Hours at Dooryard Books - Cat Sebastian (this one is an Amazon link, because it’s not yet available elsewhere)
You Should Be So Lucky - Cat Sebastian (this one too)
and a seventh title that I won’t share because I didn’t like it enough to tell you about…
A theme emerged this month - people making their homes in and around bookshops when life is falling apart around them, whether because of the Vietnam War (After Hours at Dooryard Books) or destructive acid rain (The Last Bookstore on Earth). What can I say? I feel so deeply that bookshops are important homes, third-spaces in our very busy lives.
I also adored Head Over Wheels by Leonie Mack - a sports romance where they’re both top-flight sportspeople, but she’s way closer to the top of the elite than he is. It made me want to get on my bike - and it was chock-full of Taylor Swift references
I’m not even going to give a state-of-the-bookshelf report… I’ve been, uh, supporting the book economy…
What have you been reading lately?
Speak soon,
Lily
