Welcome to this week’s roundup of three things I’ve been enjoying!
💨 Halls Soothers: Peach and Raspberry Flavour. I’ve been stuck at home with fresher’s flu for most of the last week, missing the first lectures of my Master’s degree and feeling sorry for myself. These throat sweets though - I’m not going to say anything ridiculous like ‘they cured me’ because they clearly didn’t, but they taste really nice and really did soothe my throat. 10/10 would recommend again.
🫖 Iced Oat Chai Latte. For when I want to get my autumnal vibe on but it’s not actually all that cold yet. An iced chai latte is essentially spiced milk, and with oat milk it makes it almost like if porridge were a drink. I realise that might not sound appetising… just trust me, okay?
📚 Spy & thriller books. I told you I was poorly. Obviously, I’ve read some romance books too, I haven’t completely taken leave of who I usually am - but I’ve been loving these fast-paced police procedural/ detective/ spy books. I’m sure a connoisseur of the genre would say they’re not the same thing at all, but I’m enjoying them. In the last week or so, I’ve read Slow Horses* (* Ad - Amazon affiliate link) by Mick Herron, The Hike* by Lucy Clarke (recommended on
), and The Burning* by Jane Casey (recommended by and ). Now, there are 109 people in front of me in the library queue for the second ebook in the Mick Herron series, so I need to go and do some hunting in charity shops…
