Welcome to this week’s roundup of three things I’ve been enjoying!
💧 Contigo Jackson water bottle*. (*Ad - Amazon affiliate link) This is the water bottle I take to uni every day - at 750ml it’s got a great capacity, and it’s relatively tall and narrow instead of being chunky (ideal for my ridiculously small hands…). I like that the lid flips down to cover the part that your mouth goes on to drink, and also that it locks shut - so I haven’t had to worry when I’ve put it inside a bag with my tablet or laptop.
🍫 Fin Carré (Lidl) Salted Pretzel Milk Chocolate. I’ve talked about this before, but I took a bar of it down to my board games group recently and it magically all disappeared in the space of about 15 minutes… it’s incredible.
📕 The Truants - Kate Weinberg*. This recommendation came from the lovely
of and I found it available as a library ebook through Libby. My pitch would be: what if ‘The Secret History’ but set in the 2010s and at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. To call this novel ‘twisty and turny’ is somehow both an over- and an under-statement; in some ways it’s remarkably quiet, despite all the intrigue. Perfect for any long train journeys you might have coming up, or for reading in front of a roaring fire (or, if you’ll forgive me… unwrapping at any festive occasions coming up at the end of the year…)Last week’s longer newsletter:
Getting some bloody work done, and ignoring the lure of the phone.
I’m gonna put my cards on the table. None of this is going to be original, or particularly innovative, and it probably won’t be life-changing.
I swear to god, I literally opened the Libby app and borrowed The Truants the second I read your one sentence summary. I'm sold!
