The pretty snow has turned to frozen ice and T's activities got cancelled and it is a DELIGHT! I've made the 36 hour foccacia, have a loaf of banana bread, T has done some gorgeous artwork. I've got a bunch of little tasks that it feels like I've never got time to do, and my plan is to work on them today, and then spend tomorrow on the sofa with books. We've finished our current read-aloud and are currently debating strategy - do we start the next Percy Jackson or save it for our long Christmas holiday?

Oh that sounds like a gorgeous weekend! I feel like the answer to that question depends on if you have another more Christmassy option to read during the holiday?

I think it made me realise we need to protect a weekend a month for chilling out. We enjoy seeing pals, Teddy's enjoying cyclocross training, etc. but we need some time without obligations. We made homemade oreos, did Lego, etc. And I organised my course outlines for next term! Which is normally a January task.

We read the Secret of Helmersbruk Manor last year - and LOVED it, but haven't found anything else Christmas-y we like the look of as much.

Yes! I have a recurring 'Duvet Day' on my calendar every third Sunday to remind me to take a pause from being go-go-go. Now I'm back at uni I tend to take a 'potato day' one day per week which is much needed.
